The city of Las Vegas is fast becoming well known, for not only its casinos but also for its golf. Today, there are at least 50 golf courses in and around Las Vegas, though not all of them are operational; some are still under construction. This number is indeed significant, in view of city’s half-million population. This probably has to do with the fact that the tourist traffic in this city has been on the rise.
In the year 2004, around 37 million tourists visited the city and around 22,000 conventions were held there.
